It’s one thing to have been plagued with acne, but the scarring it can leave behind can be devastating.  Acne scarring can be disastrous on a person’s self esteem. It can be embarrassing and can lower self-confidence.  It can affect a person’s social life and can make them shy away from people and gatherings.  Its bad enough to have to deal with acne, but when you have to deal with acne scarring, it can be annoying to say the least.  Now, there is hope for individuals that suffer, and there are solutions for acne scar removal.

When it comes to finding the right product for acne scars removal, you need to arm yourself with information that will show you how the product actually works to clear up the scarring. Some of these products come as a chemical peel, which exfoliates the skin, allowing new skin to emerge. The exfoliation of the skin, helps remove layers of skin, which removes or lessens the scarring.  The scar ends up noticeably less obvious or gone all together.

Laser acne scar removal is another way to remove scarring from acne.  This consists of a laser that uses a high intense wavelength to reduce or remove the scar. It also helps to reduce the redness that surrounds acne lesions.  Sometimes all it takes is one treatment of the laser to get results.  Redness usually occurs for a few months after the laser treatment, but will subside.

Another acne scar removal treatment is dermabrasion.  This is done in a dermatologist’s office and can take less then an hour.   This is known to be one of the best treatments for acne scar removal.  A high-speed brush is used to remove the skin’s surface and alter the scars contours.  Scars that are on the surface of the skin are removed all together, and acne scars that are deeper, are reduced significantly.

Another method of acne scarring removal is collagen injections, which is a substance that the body produces naturally.  It is injected into the skin to fill out and plump up the skin so that the acne scars are not as noticeable.  This method lasts for 3 to 6 months and additional injections are then done to maintain the results that were achieved.

With any acne scar removal method, it is best to always consult with your doctor first, so that he or she can advise you on the best method and evaluate your skin to determine the severity of your acne scars.
